The Arctic fox (Vulpes lagopus), also known as white fox, snow fox or Arctic fox, is a small fox native to the Arctic region of the Northern Hemisphere and often lives in Arctic tundra biomes. This fox species adapts well to cold environments. They have thick fur that is brown in the summer and turns white in the winter. Their body length is about 46 to 68 cm (18 to 27 in) and their rounded body shape helps them minimize the transfer of heat from the body to the air.
