How to Breakdance | Salsa Steps | Top Rock Basics

How to Breakdance | Salsa Steps | Top Rock Basics Listen

A livestream from VincaniTV published in Hip-hop

This tutorial teaches the Salsa Steps which come from salsa dancing. If you are a professional salsa dancer I apologize they are not the same way that you do the steps. This is a step that bboying has taken in and made our own. You will start noticing that many of the steps used in breakdancing comes from different dances. This is because as street dancers we are inspired by what we experience in our lives, then take it and make it our own. Historically in NY (Where Breakdancing originated) there was a large number of Puerto Ricans that lived there. Culturally they do Salsa Dancing and when they started bboying a piece of their culture was added. If you want to get good at these steps make sure you practice until you are comfortable. Warm up every practice with 10-20min of top rocks.

Disclaimer: These Tutorials on Breakdancing are meant to help spread knowledge to kids and adults who otherwise wont get it, and to help preserve to culture in which we call Hip Hop. Please help keep Hip Hop Alive and share what you learn with others!

Warning: These tutorials do involve moves that take time and hard work to learn and should not be attempted until you master the basics (Toprocks, Basic Footwork & Basic Freezes). Make sure you get comfortable with the moves before moving on, and make sure you have an open space to dance in. I am not responsible for any injures, sore muscles or broken furniture while you are attempting these tutorials. Take it easy until you feel comfortable. If you need extra help you can email me about doing a workshop or private lessons.
